Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Campus Karnataka (“we”, “us”) collects when you use campuskarnataka.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit an enquiry, counselling request, review or contact form, we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, whether you are a student or a parent, the exam and rank you share, city, the course or college you are interested in, and any message you write. When you tick the consent box we also record which wording you agreed to and when, so we can show what you consented to.

If you ask to be notified about dates

You can give us an email address to be told when exam dates, results or admission windows are announced. That address is used only to send you those updates and is not shared with colleges. You can ask us to stop at any time by writing to info@campuskarnataka.com, and we keep a record of the request so you are not added again by a later import.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers may record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand which content is useful.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and provide admission guidance.
• To send you a one-time confirmation of your enquiry, if you gave an email address.
• To send you date alerts, only if you signed up for them separately.
• To improve our content, search and recommendations.
• To detect and prevent misuse, fraud and abuse of the site.

3. Sharing your information with colleges

This is the most important thing to understand before you submit an enquiry. We do not pass your details to any college, university or agent. An enquiry is answered by our own counselling team. If you want us to put you in touch with a particular institution, we will ask you first and share only what you agree to, with that institution only.

When you tick the consent box on an enquiry form, you agree to be contacted by us about admissions, by phone call or WhatsApp. You can opt out at any time — reply “STOP” on WhatsApp, or write to info@campuskarnataka.com — and we will not contact you again about that enquiry.

You can browse every college, course, cut-off and exam page on the site without submitting anything.

4. Other disclosures

We may also disclose personal information:

• To service providers who host our site, send our email, deliver our internal enquiry notifications to our own counsellors (Telegram) or provide analytics, under obligations of confidentiality — and only what each needs to do that job.
• Where required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government authority.
• To protect our rights, safety, or the rights and safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in where relevant, remember preferences, and measure how the site is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features of the site.

6. Data retention

We retain enquiry details for as long as needed to provide guidance and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and grievances

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct, complete or update it, ask us to erase it, withdraw consent you have previously given, and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity. To make a request, email us at info@campuskarnataka.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Withdrawing consent stops any further sharing of your details with institutions, but does not affect processing already carried out, or contact an institution has already initiated, before the withdrawal.

If you have a complaint about how your personal data is handled, contact our grievance officer at info@campuskarnataka.com with “Grievance” in the subject line, and we will respond within the timelines required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

Many of our users are school and pre-university students. If you are under 18, the enquiry form asks for a parent’s or guardian’s mobile number and their agreement before it will send, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires for a child’s data. Please review this policy with them. We use a child’s enquiry only to answer it, and we do not use children’s data for targeted advertising.

10. Links to other sites

Our pages link to official websites such as KEA, COMEDK, NTA and individual college sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites — please read their policies separately.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
