Commerce leads into accounting, finance, management and the professional qualifications — CA, CS and CMA. Karnataka, and Bengaluru in particular, has one of the deepest concentrations of commerce colleges in India.
What to know before choosing
- 1B.Com remains the default choice and is offered by hundreds of Karnataka colleges. Specialisations in finance, accounting and analytics differentiate programmes.
- 2BBA and BBM are the management-oriented alternatives, better suited if you plan an MBA later.
- 3CA, CS and CMA are professional qualifications run by their own institutes, not universities. Most students take them alongside a B.Com.
- 4The five-year integrated BBA LL.B is a strong route into corporate law and requires CLAT or a university entrance test.
