BA / BSW
Arts graduates have the widest postgraduate choice of any stream and the least guidance about it. An MA, an MSW into the development sector, an LL.M if you already hold a law degree, or an MBA — which is open to every discipline.
What to know before choosing
- 1CUET PG is the route into the central universities. Karnataka’s state universities admit to MA largely on degree merit or their own entrance test.
- 2MSW leads into the development sector, CSR and medical social work, and Karnataka has long-established programmes in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Dharwad.
- 3LL.M requires an existing LL.B — it is not a route from a BA. If you want law from an arts background, the entry point is the five-year integrated BA LL.B taken after Class 12.
- 4KSET is not an admission test. It is the state eligibility test for lectureship, taken after a master’s, and is listed here because it is what an MA is often for.
