A B.Sc leads naturally to an M.Sc in the same subject, but it is not the only door. MCA is open to B.Sc graduates in Karnataka, and an MBA is open to any degree — both admitted through PGCET.
What to know before choosing
- 1M.Sc admission in Karnataka’s state universities is usually by the university’s own test or merit; CUET PG covers the central universities, and IIT JAM covers the IITs and IISc.
- 2MCA is open to B.Sc graduates who studied Mathematics at Class 12 or in the degree — the requirement most applicants discover late. Karnataka PGCET is the state route.
- 3An MBA is open to a graduate of any discipline, which makes PGCET, KMAT and CAT worth knowing about even if you intend to stay in science.
