Is COMEDK counselling part of the entrance test, or a separate step?
Separate, with its own registration and its own fee: you register through your existing COMEDK application login and pay a counselling fee of ₹2,000, which the official process document states is non-refundable — whether or not you are ever allotted a seat.
What must happen before I can fill choices?
Your uploaded documents must be verified and your status must read "Document Approved" — the process document is explicit that this is the only status that lets you take part in choice filling. Upload early enough to fix a rejection; a pending or rejected status at the deadline locks you out of the round.
What do the four decisions after an allotment actually mean?
Accept & Freeze takes the seat and ends your participation. Accept & Upgrade pays for and holds the seat while keeping you in later rounds for a better preference. Reject & Upgrade gives up the allotted seat but keeps you in later rounds. Reject & Withdraw exits counselling entirely. The choice you record decides both your money and your eligibility for the next round, so read the current document's fee-forfeiture table before clicking.
If I skip choice filling in Round 1, am I out of the later rounds?
For engineering, comedk.org's own announcement is blunt: candidates whose choice-filling forms are blank after Round 1 will not be considered for the further process. Enter at least your genuinely acceptable options in Round 1 even if you expect to upgrade later.
Does COMEDK have a Kalyana-Karnataka quota?
Yes.
