Is there negative marking in KCET?

No. The UGCET-2026 bulletin states it in capitals: there will be no negative evaluation for wrong answers — but marks are not awarded where multiple answers are shaded for the same question on the OMR sheet. Every question carries one mark and there is no choice of questions, so attempting all of them is the correct strategy.

How is the KCET paper actually structured?

Four subject papers across two days, each of 60 multiple-choice questions for 60 marks in 80 minutes: Physics and Chemistry on day one, Mathematics and Biology on day two. Engineering admission counts the PCM papers; farm-science courses count PCMB. Answers go on an OMR sheet in blue or black ballpoint only, and question papers come in multiple version codes.

Does my 2nd PUC score matter, or only the CET score?

Both, equally. For engineering the merit list is prepared by taking marks in equal proportions from the qualifying examination and the CET in the PCM subjects — a 50:50 formula. Eligibility needs a minimum of 45% aggregate in the prescribed subject combination at 2nd PUC (40% for SC, ST, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates of Karnataka); the bulletin prescribes no minimum marks in the CET itself.

How are ties in KCET engineering rank broken?

In a fixed chain: higher CET Mathematics marks first, then CET Physics, then the relevant qualifying-examination marks, then age with the elder candidate placed above the younger — and if everything is still equal, by draw of lots.

I want B.Arch. Which KCET papers do I write?

None. Architecture admission through KEA uses the NATA score plus qualifying-examination merit — there is no CET paper for it. You must still register for CET, pay the application fee and submit your NATA score card to KEA on the notified dates, and only NATA results published before the first round of seat allotment are considered. Ties are broken on NATA marks, then qualifying-exam Mathematics, then age.

Why does KCET 2026 publish four Scheduled Caste cut-off columns?

Because the Government's order SKE 08 SLP 2024 (25-08-2025) introduced internal reservation within the Scheduled Castes as Category-A, Category-B and Category-C. KEA now publishes columns per internal category (SCA, SCB, SCC 80% and SCC 20%) instead of one SC column, and the caste certificate must state the internal category with its RD number.

Is there really a fee-waiver quota I can claim with a General Merit rank?

Yes — the Supernumerary Quota (SNQ): 5% extra seats in all engineering colleges with the government tuition fee waived, open to every candidate including General Merit when family income is below ₹8 lakh, allotted lowest income band first. It runs on one document — a Tahasildar-issued income certificate in your name with its RD number entered in the application.
